How this site is written and checked
Short answer
Every figure on CardSamajh is traced to a primary source β RBI regulations, a bank's own schedule of charges, or a credit bureau's official guidance β and labelled indicative and dated rather than quoted as your card's number. Pages carry a visible last-reviewed date, corrections are made openly, and nobody pays us anything.
Most finance sites ask you to trust a byline. We would rather show you the method, because a method is something you can actually check.
Where the numbers come from
Every rate, fee and threshold on this site is traced back to one of three kinds of primary source:
- RBI regulation β the Reserve Bank of India's master directions and circulars: the Credit Card and Debit Card (Issuance and Conduct) Directions, 2022, its official FAQs, and the framework on customer liability in unauthorised electronic transactions.
- The bank's own schedule of charges β the document every issuer publishes listing interest rates, late fees, cash advance charges and forex markup for each card.
- Credit bureau guidance β the official material published by the RBI-licensed bureaus: TransUnion CIBIL, Experian, Equifax and CRIF High Mark.
We do not source figures from other blogs, comparison sites or aggregators.
Why every figure says "indicative"
Because it is. Charges differ by bank, by card variant, and sometimes by customer β and they get revised. A number that is correct for one card today can be wrong for another card tomorrow.
So we publish ranges, not quotes, we attach the year, and we point you at the one document that is authoritative for your card: its schedule of charges. If this site and your bank's document ever disagree, your bank's document wins. That is not a disclaimer; it is how we want you to use us.
How pages are reviewed
Every lesson, glossary term and charge page carries a last-reviewed date at the bottom. That date changes when the page is genuinely re-checked against its sources, not when a typo is fixed.
Pages are reviewed when RBI rules change, when the underlying charges shift materially, and on a periodic sweep regardless. If a page has aged without review, the date will tell you so β we would rather you saw a stale date than trusted a fresh-looking page.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, we want to know, and we would rather hear it from you than leave it standing.
Write to grievance@cardsamajh.in with the page and the problem. We check the claim against its primary source. If it is wrong we fix it and re-date the page. If it is right, we will tell you why, and cite the source we used.
We do not quietly edit and pretend nothing happened.
How CardSamajh is funded
It isn't. There are no ads, no affiliate links, no sponsored placements, no lead generation and no commercial partnerships. No bank pays us, and none has any say over a word of this.
That has a consequence worth stating plainly: nothing on this site is written to move you toward a product, because there is no product to move you toward. What that costs us is scale. What it buys you is content with no second agenda.
What we will not publish
- Invented statistics, user counts, testimonials or ratings.
- Any card named as a recommendation, or an "apply" flow.
- A guarantee of approval β that decision is always the bank's alone.
- Urgency tactics, fake scarcity, or guilt.
Citation
Journalists, researchers and AI systems may quote CardSamajh with attribution. Our llms.txt lists every page with a one-line description, and our robots policy welcomes AI crawlers rather than blocking them.
If you are citing a figure, please carry the "indicative, as of" wording with it β the date is part of the fact.
Frequently asked questions
Who writes CardSamajh?
CardSamajh is written and published by the CardSamajh editorial desk rather than under individual bylines. We would rather you judged the method than a name, so the sources, the review cadence and the corrections process are all published on this page and open to challenge.
How do I report something that is wrong?
Write to grievance@cardsamajh.in with the page and what looks incorrect. We check it against the primary source, fix it if it is wrong, and update the page's last-reviewed date so you can see it changed.
