Schedule of charges

Short answer

The schedule of charges is the official document on every bank's website listing every fee applicable to your card — interest rate, late fees, cash advance charges, forex markup and more. It is the authoritative source; every figure on CardSamajh is indicative by comparison.

What it means

It is the fee list, in full, in the bank's own words — and publishing it is not a courtesy. The RBI Master Direction on credit cards requires issuers to disclose all charges in the Most Important Terms and Conditions. Every number that can ever appear on your statement is defined here: the interest rate, the late fee slabs, the cash advance fee, the forex markup, the annual fee and its waiver condition, and the reward redemption fee.

How to find it: Search for "[your card name] schedule of charges" on your bank's official website. That document is always the freshest truth, straight from the source.

The common mistake

Relying on a blog, a comparison site or a friend for the number. Fees change, differ by card variant, and occasionally differ by customer. Anything not from the bank is a starting point, not an answer — including everything on CardSamajh, which is why we label figures indicative and dated.

What to note down, once

  1. The monthly interest rate (and multiply by 12 for the APR).
  2. The forex markup percentage.
  3. The annual fee and its waiver threshold.
  4. The late fee slabs.
  5. The reward redemption fee, if any.

Five numbers, ten minutes, and you never have to guess again.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my credit card's schedule of charges?

On your bank's own website, usually linked from the card's product page and often titled 'Schedule of Charges' or 'Most Important Terms and Conditions'. It is also referenced on your monthly statement.

How often do charges change?

Banks revise fees periodically and are required to notify cardholders of changes. That is why every rate quoted anywhere else, including here, should be treated as indicative and checked against the current document.
