Privacy & your data
Short answer
CardSamajh collects nothing at all. There is no login, no phone number, no email, no form and no newsletter anywhere on this site. Your XP, lesson progress and poll answers are stored only in your own browser's localStorage β they never reach us, and the footer link erases them instantly.
What we collect
Nothing. Reading CardSamajh requires no login, no phone number, no email address and no PAN β ever. There is no account system, no sign-up form, no newsletter and no contact form, because there is nothing here that needs one.
That is not a promise to handle your data carefully. It is the stronger version: there is no data to handle.
What is stored on your device
Your XP, which lessons you marked as learned, your poll answers and your language and tone preference are saved in your browser's localStorage.
- It stays on your device.
- It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
- It contains no identifiers β no name, no email, no device ID.
- Clearing your browser data, or using the "Reset my on-device progress" link in the footer, erases it completely and immediately.
Analytics
If analytics is enabled on this deployment (Google Analytics 4), it is configured for aggregate, non-personal measurement only: no advertising features, no user-ID linking, no data sold. It tells us which lessons get read, not who read them.
Because we set no cookies of our own and collect no personal data, no consent banner is required to browse this site.
What we will never do
Your rights under India's DPDP Act, 2023
You have the right to access, correct, erase and port your personal data, to withdraw consent, to nominate someone to exercise these rights, and to raise a grievance.
In practice these rights have nothing to bite on here: we hold no personal data about you at all. Everything the site remembers lives on your device, under your control, and is deleted the moment you clear it.
Retention
We retain nothing, because we collect nothing. On-device data is retained until you clear it β we have no copy of it and no way to retrieve it.
Children
CardSamajh is written for adults making credit decisions. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and since we collect nothing at all, there is nothing to collect from anyone.
Security
Because we hold nothing, there is nothing to breach. The site is served over HTTPS and ships no third-party scripts other than the optional analytics described above.
Grievance contact
If you have a question or complaint about privacy on this site, write to grievance@cardsamajh.in. We will acknowledge it and respond as required under the DPDP Act.
Frequently asked questions
Does CardSamajh use cookies?
We set no cookies of our own. Progress is kept in localStorage on your device, which is never sent to any server. If Google Analytics is enabled on this deployment it may set its own storage; the site is configured so that analytics carries no personal identifiers and no advertising features.
How do I delete the data CardSamajh has about me?
There is nothing on our side to delete, because we never collect anything. For the progress stored on your own device, use the 'Reset my on-device progress' link in the footer β it clears everything immediately. Clearing your browser data does the same.
