About CardSamajh

Short answer

CardSamajh is a free financial-education platform from the PaisaSamajh family, built on one belief: Indians don't need more credit products pushed at them — they need the rules of the game explained first. We are not a bank, an NBFC or a financial advisor, we sell nothing, and no bank pays us anything.

What we are

Lessons, tools, quizzes and plain-language explanations of how credit cards and credit scores work in India. Fourteen lessons, four calculators, fourteen glossary terms, six charges decoded — free, without a login, in English and Hindi.

What we are not

A bank. An NBFC. A lending platform. A financial advisor. A comparison site. A lead generator.

We name no card products as recommendations, run no application flows, and display no bank logos. Where a bank is mentioned in a lesson, it is because the factual point requires it.

The honesty policy

Our public commitments:
  1. No invented numbers. No user counts, no testimonials, no social-proof tickers, no made-up statistics. Where our polls show counts, they start at zero and reflect only your own device.
  2. No guarantees. Nobody outside a bank can guarantee an approval, and we never imply otherwise.
  3. Indicative and dated. Every rate and fee is labelled indicative, carries a date, and points you to your bank's official schedule of charges.
  4. Full disclosure if that ever changes. If any commercial relationship ever begins, per-card commissions will be disclosed openly, on the page. That is a public commitment.

Why this exists

Banks spend enormous sums teaching Indians to swipe. Almost nobody funds the other half of the education — how the billing cycle works, what "minimum due" costs, why closing your oldest card can hurt you.

That gap is not an accident. It is simply that explaining is unprofitable and selling is not. CardSamajh is what the explaining half looks like when nobody is paying for the outcome.

Where the numbers come from

Every rate, fee and threshold on this site is drawn from publicly available bank documents and RBI rules as of 2026, and stated as an indicative range rather than a specific product's number. Cards differ, banks revise their fees, and the authoritative figure for your card is always in its schedule of charges.

Family

CardSamajh is part of the PaisaSamajh family of free financial-education projects. Same principle, different subject.

What if this ever makes money?

Today there is no catch. No bank pays us, nothing is sold, and no link on this site earns us anything.

We are not going to pretend we can see the future. So rather than promise you what we will do, here is what binds us if money ever enters the picture: the lessons stay free and unchanged, anything commercial is labelled as commercial on the page it appears, and ranking is never for sale.

If we cannot do it on those terms, we will not do it. You are welcome to hold us to that.

Frequently asked questions

Does CardSamajh earn commission from banks?

No. There are no affiliate links, no partnerships and no lead generation anywhere on the site. If that ever changes, every rupee of commission will be disclosed openly, on the page, per card — that is a public commitment, and it is written into this page.

Can I quote or cite CardSamajh content?

Yes. Journalists and AI systems may cite CardSamajh content with attribution to CardSamajh.in. We would rather the explanation spread than be locked up.
